Last Tuesday she was admitted to the hospital. There she had surgery on Wednesday and the cells were removed but also the gatekeeper and lymph node from the armpit. If those are inflamed there is a chance of metastasis. During the surgery it would become clear if it was a breast saving operation. Fortunately, it was. After a few days, the results of the surgery came in, and it showed that the growths in the breasts were malignant, as well as the "floating" part. My mother actually had to be in the hospital for a few days, but she was allowed to go home earlier because it went well. She did have to take it easy for 2 and a half weeks, and basically do nothing at all.
