Formerly Britney now Carlo

When I was a young teenager, I loved Britney Spears. Not only was she a handsome pop star, but she had fun songs. Times change, however. I've grown up (though some would say only on paper) and I've also grown in faith.
I didn't used to have posters over my bed - at least not of pop stars. Now that I am an adult, I have other idols. In particular, the - for now - blissful Carlo Acutis.
His life is a true example for me. Lately I have been reading more and more about his life and feel even more strongly connected to him. How his life was on earth is an inspiration to me. The most obvious motivation, of course, is his knowledge of computers. As a cyber apostle, he is my role model anyway. But also his great love for the Eucharist and for Mother Mary are at least as important to me. The other aspects of Carlo Acutis' life are invitations for me to mirror my life with his. I know: I am a sinner. I still have a long way to go before I get to heaven.
But the moment is almost here: tomorrow morning he will finally be canonized. I do not yet know what will go through me tomorrow, but right now I am very excited and excited. The moment that "my Carlo Acutis" is going to be canonized is finally approaching.
