To the river San Pablo
After the tiring and emotional period of last days, it was another tiring day. The difference with the days with Fr. Roberto is that today was not emotionally exhausting, but physically. It started with the alarm clock going off at 4:30 in the morning. I as a Dutchman thought, we agreed to meet at 5 o'clock, so I'll make sure I'm awake. But I should have known better. After I was awake and ready I looked at my cell phone. It had shifted to 6 o'clock. Eventually it turned out to be 7 o'clock.
After breakfast at Uncle Cheo's family, we went to the river. It was a fantastic day. But there were more physical challenges. The sun was burning and once again a little sunburned. And swimming in the water also takes a lot of energy so in the afternoon I went to sleep a little.
But enough with the negativity. It's all relative. In the afternoon we took a boat to Piedra del Sol (Stone of the Sun). It is a relic of ancient times before the Spanish conquered Panama. I could write for hours about the fantastic time at the river. It is truly enjoyable here. Check out the photos and judge for yourself.
