From Panama City to Soná
It just depends on which date you go by. My departure from Roermond on Jan. 9 or my departure from Holland on Jan. 10. But only today on Jan. 11 does the real journey begin.
At the time of writing I am on the bus from Panama to Santiago. That is the capital of the province of Veraguas where I will be staying for the next few months. I will stay in different places in the province. From there I will take a bus to Soná.
Writing this blog is quite difficult. I was reminded of a scene from Harry Potter on the Knight Bus in the movie: The Prisoner of Azkaban. There the head near the driver says, It's gonna be a bumpy ride. Indeed it is quite bumpy to take pictures. Or writing texts. It's a bit of luck.
Some people sleep on the bus. I can't sleep when babies are crying, the bus is moving in all directions and the air conditioning is working only lightly. One person is watching soccer, someone else is playing games on the bus and messages are constantly coming in to everyone.
But yes, the view along the way is already fantastic. It's about 4 or 5 hours on the bus and really enjoying it. I still have some adjusting to the climate, time, culture and various other things that bring up all kinds of memories. But when I soon arrive in my beloved Soná then the real relaxing begins.
Now I go back to looking outside and enjoying all the beauty.
